Other Stalks

Other stalks may be used but only until you can obtain yarrow stalks. Many plants have stalks similar to yarrow and can be used temporarily. The stalks must be relatively straight and fairly smooth, between seven and thirteen inches long. Most supermarkets sell packages of bamboo skewers used in preparation of shish-kebob. Fireplace matches with their flammable tips cut off can be used, but you may have to use sandpaper to make the match sticks smooth and round.
Your attitude while manipulating any kind of stalks is of great importance. You must be collected within yourself; calm. Sincerity is essential.
